Saber Smith Spotlight The Pilgrim

Some slides in the original post were videos; still frames are shown here.

Perhaps at the pinnacle of custom saber building are saber smiths that create sabers from end-to-end - everything from designing the hilt, machining and weathering the parts, designing the internal chassis and installing the electronics. The skills needed to do every part of this complex work calls upon every technical tool in the saber smith arsenal from hardware to software. Without a doubt, only a handful of smiths in the world are capable of such feats.

This week, we take a look at one such saber smith - Gary Morris of The Outer Rim Outpost. The second Exhibit in this series, this Exhibit features a unique saber named The Pilgrim. Inspired by the idea of a gray Jedi, preferring to act alone guided by the Force. This hilt features a custom machined hilt from scratch with brass and aluminium, 2.1mm recharge port, custom machined crystal chamber and greeblies and installed with CFX for light and sound.
